Judges 17:12 (May 5th)

Quiet Time Nugget:

'Now I know that the Lord will prosper me'.  Do you?  In this verse we see how Micah, probably, in his ignorance thought that he was going to prosper because a Levite was a priest in his house.  Not because your mom, dad, or spouse are christian - you will inherit the kingdom of God.  The Bible teaches us that we have to surrender to God, confess our sins, accept Him as our Savior and follow Him.  You will not prosper because your spouse is walking in the Lord, you have to walk in the Lord too.
Examine yourself, are you thinking that everything will prosper because of someone else?  Like the kids say today: I think not!  God will prosper you but you must have in your heart as your personal savior.

1 Corinthians 4:5 (May 4th)

Quiet Time Nugget:

Only the Lord will bring light to the things now hidden in your life.  Darkness has a grip on all hidden things or the secret things in our lives.  We may hold these secret things from others and even ourselves knowing that no one, even we, can judge our motives.  Only God can measure our hearts completely and without distortion.  It is a comfort that men are not to be our final judges.  There is a day coming, that will bring men's secret sins into open day, and discover the secrets of their heart.  Then every unbeliever will be justified and every faithful believe with be rewarded.  Our 'heart' is our total person, not merely our emotions and the word of God is the best rule by which to judge our lives, especially our hearts.  Take time read His word, study it and most importantly live by it.

Judges 16:28 (May 4th)

Quiet Time Nugget:

'O Lord God, please remember me and please strengthen me'… - was the prayer that Samson said when he needed God the most.  This prayer was not an act of malice and revenge, but of faith and zeal for God.  The awful punishments for his sins had, at last, brought him to his senses.  When finally Samson cried out for God to remember him, he knew that God was the only one who could help him and he put his trust in Him.
I know that this type of prayer we say when we call out to God because we are feeling low, lonely or afraid.   A prayer because we have lost all hope and need God to lift us up.  My friends do not let your spirit get so low that you have to find your self pleading God.  Take time, everyday, to thank Him, to praise Him and to talk to Him about your everyday things.  He is a God who listens and will be with you no matter what if you put your trust in Him and serve Him.

1 Corinthians 3:17 (May 3rd)

Quiet Time Nugget:

Christ dwells in all true believers.  Christians should be pure and clean, both in heart and conversation.  The Bible says we are his temple and His temple is holy. What does the scripture mean by 'temple'? The temple of God is to be regarded as sacred and inviolable.  We are to respect it and never desecrate it.
Take care of yourself, temple of God. Take care, the best care that you can provide, not to desecrate the temple, your body.  Eat healthy, exercise, sleep, read the Bible and do more positive things to make you feel good so you can spread the good news to others.

Judges 13:3, 9 (May 3rd)

Quiet Time Nugget:

I hope you had the opportunity to read about Samson in the book of Judges.  What a wonderful story.  It spoke to me in a very special way.  After reading about Monoah's wife, who could not have children.  I stopped and prayed for all those women who have not had the opportunity to become pregnant or carry a child full-term.  I asked God to give them comfort and much needed strength.
But as you continue reading the chapter you see how God did not forget her and send an angel to tell her the good news.  This good news came with specific instructions: 'you are not to drink wine, strong drinks, eat nothing unclean, and no razor shall come upon his head."  She and her husband listen to God and obeyed.
When was the last time God told to do something and you asked for confirmation and after you received it, you still didn't do what you were suppose too?  Let's be obedient.  Let's let God guide our every steps.  He will never fail us.

1 Corinthians 1:31 (May 2nd)

Quiet Time Nugget:

Will all the boasting we do on a daily basis about our personal standing, achievements, or merits, we neglect to the boast the Lord.  I do not know about you, I have been trying to give God the honor and glory when something wonderful happens in my life.  I have been practicing this for many years now that it comes out automatically.  It is funny to see my co-workers reaction when I say: 'Praise God' or 'Thank you Jesus' out loud.  Let your new life live for God and Christ will bless you.  Boast on Him everyday for His wisdom, righteousness, sanctification and redemption.

Judges 10:15 (May 2nd)

Quiet Time Nugget:

If you read the book of Judges you will see how these people kept going back to their corrupted ways after the Lord helped them.  I felt moved by this scripture because we all sin and sometimes we ask God to do whatever seems good to help us out of a situation. But, have you stopped to think how many times you have done this in your lifetime?  We beg and beg God to deliver us from whatever it is that is tormenting us but when storm is gone and the sun is shining; how quickly we forget and go back to doing the things that got is in trouble in the first place.  My prayer today is for God to deliver me from those storms but to show me what got me into that storm in the first place and help me change my ways.
