Romans 12:9-21 (April 30th)

Quiet Time Nugget:

Have you read Romans 12: 9 thru 21?  It is titled: Marks of the True Christian.  I know that after reading this chapter I decided to ponder on each of those 'marks' and examine my life.  I hope you take the time and read them and examine your life.

Judges 8:23 (April 30th)

Quiet Time Nugget:

The entire verse says: "Gideon said unto them, I will not rule over you, neither shall my son rule over you: the Lord will rule over you. Few with such power at their command would have acted as Gideon did.  His speech calls them back to their first principles.  We too need to remember that God is in control.  Do not allow the things of this earth control your life.   The Lord Jesus Christ should be the ONLY ONE to rule over you.

Romans 11:36 (April 29th)

Quiet Time Nugget:

'For from Him and through Him are all things'.  Nothing is impossible for God - nothing.  Trust Him.  Are you going through some difficult times: financially, health, relationships, jobs, and other? Stop and talk to God.  Explain to Him what you feel.  Tell Him everything. He is a caring God that listens and comforts us while we wait for things to get done.  Ask the Holy Spirit to comfort you.  Ask everything in the name of Jesus Christ.  Talk to Him - Do It!  To Him be the Glory Forever. Amen.

Judges 6:23 (April 29th)

Quiet Time Nugget:

After having vanished to convince Gideon of his divinity, the Angel returns again to assure his heart.  The Angel probably appeared and spoke again just as he had done before.  Let us take this statement: 'Peace be to you. Do not fear' and meditate.  We are so worried about everything that we can not control in our daily life.  But just like the Angel told Gideon, God too tells us to have peace and do not fear.  We really need to meditate in this and take it to heart.  Believe in it and trust that God is in control.

Romans 10:1 (April 28th)

Quiet Time Nugget:

I hope that your hearts desire and prayer to God is just like Paul said in the book of Romans, for those that need to be saved.  Spread the good news.  There are so many ways to tell others about 'salvation'.  If you are afraid to talk to them, give them the information in writing, in a picture, in a song, etc.  Buy a cd of your favorite christian music and give it as  gift to a friend in need. Share my blog or other blogs that talk about God.  If you know of someone who is hooked on the internet, email them website links that talks about Gods love and salvation.  Make it your daily desire and prayer to God.  Take the time do it (share the gospel) God will bless you abundantly.

Judges 5:3 (April 28th)

Quiet Time Nugget:

Sing praises to the Lord.  Thank Him for all of His blessings - today, everyday, morning, afternoons, evenings, through troubles, through happy times.  Sing loud.  God loves a sincere melody.  Ask Him for forgiveness.  Ask Him for extra blessing.  Just Ask Him! --  Today and Everyday!

Romans 8:34 (April 27th)

Quiet Time Nugget:

Christ Jesus is the one who died AND more than that who was raised AND who is at the right hand of God who  indeed is interceding for us.  What a wonderful advocate!  Christ Jesus is your advocate! Our faith should not stop at his death, but be exercised farther on his resurrection, kingdom, second coming.
Christ Jesus is not only getting ready for us to come and join Him, He is interceding for us.  Our prayers, sufferings, and concerns are sanctified through Him and presented to the Heavenly Father.

Judges 2:1 (April 27th)

Quiet Time Nugget:

What a wonderful promise an angel of the Lord said: "I will never break my covenant with you,"… This is what God too promised us after the earth was destroyed during the flood.  If we focus on one word 'never', we need to realize that every time we are feeling down, think that God is not listening to us and that he has changed his mind - we are forgetting about his covenants.  Remember God is not a god who lies and/or gives us false hopes.  He is a God of love and mercies.  When God promises you something He will follow through.  Just continue trusting Him and thanking Him for the rewards that is about to come.  I trust Him and I know that He wants the best for me.

Romans 7:25 (April 26th)

Quiet Time Nugget:

Thanks be to God. Who will deliver us from this body of death?  The Lord Jesus has already done it.  We are to respond to the feeling of discouragement and failure by reminding ourselves that Jesus Christ died for our sin and He forgives us constantly.  Our feelings must be of thankfulness for all He has done. We are no longer under the law described in the old testament.  Now we are free children of God, living normal human lives.  We have his power within us and although sometimes we do not feel that power, to say,"No!" and walk away from those things that can cause us to fall into temptations.  If it wasn't for His mercies we would not be here.  So again thank Him God through Jesus Christ our Lord our Savior.

Joshua 24:14 (April 26th)

Quiet Time Nugget:

The application of this verse is about God's mercies to Joshua and the people.  It is an exhortation to fear and serve God, in gratitude for his favor, and that it might be continued.  We know that our work for God is never fully done until our life is done.  If God lengthens our days, it is because He has some further service for us to do.  Let's stop making excuses for every little thing and be sincere and faithful.  How can God use you to do His work if you are not sincere and faithful.  Examine your life and ask Him to help you make the necessary changes to serve him and do according to His will.

Romans 5:1 (April 25th)

Quiet Time Nugget:

What a description of a blissful and calm state which the sense of justification brings.  A blessed change takes place in the sinner's state, when he/she becomes a true believer.  You can have peace with God when you are justified by faith.  Faith will bring that justification, justification will bring that peace with God all through the mediation of Jesus Christ.  The holy, righteous God, cannot be at peace with a sinner, while under the guilt of sin.  Justification takes away the guilt, and so makes way for us to have peace through our Lord Jesus Christ.  I hope you can find that peace and begin to built in your heart that eager hope that looks forward to a glorious future with God.

How cool would it be if you are driving and this verse was posted along the way!
This bible verse does not need much explanation… "love the Lord your God, and walk in all his ways and keep his commandments and cling to Him and serve Him with all your heart and soul".  I hope that you can do all the things it says.  Put your trust in God and He will never abandon you.  Have you been waiting for a sign from God to do something important in your life?  Then keep this verse in your heart and soul, wait patiently on Him -- He will not fail you.

Romans 3:23 -25 (April 24th)

Quiet Time Nugget:

Have you been justified by His grace?  In other words: have you been declared or made righteous in the sight of God by His grace?
The righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ is for all who believe.  We are all sinners and have fallen short of the glory of God but we can be justified by his grace as a gift.  What a wonderful gift, grace.  If it wasn't for God mercy and grace, we would have never had the opportunity to be made righteous.  Thank Him every moment of your life for all He has done for you.  Praise Him through prayer or singing.  God will never leave you.  Trust in Him.

Joshua 21 (April 24th)

Quiet Time Nugget:

Wikipedia:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pasture

What are pasturelands and why does Joshua 21 repeat it numerous times?  In this chapter, Joshua was to allot the Levites land to dwell along with their pasturelands for livestock. According to wikipedia: "Pasturelands in the narrow sense are enclosed tracts of farmland, grazed by domesticated livestock, such as horses, cattle, sheep or swine.  The vegetation of tended pasture, forage, consists mainly of grasses.  Pasture is typically grazed throughout the summer."

In this modern day, we do not go around allotting  groups of people land, however, God has allotted us different places where we can go and spread the gospel.  Many of the different places include: your job,  school, waiting for an appointment at the doctor, emergency room, dentist, barber, etc.  Because the mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life (Prov 10:11), we need to go and spread the good news to all so they too can have life.

Romans 2:7 (April 23rd)

Quiet Time Nugget:

What a wonderful promise: "to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, He will give eternal life".  Seek God, serve Him, praise Him, love Him - why not? He has given you everything you have and more.  We are so ungrateful sometimes that we do not take the time to give honor where honor is due.  He has offered us eternal life with no sorrows and no pain - an offer that no one else can give you.
Even if you are feeling down and the whole world is crumbling around you, take the time to thank Him for everything.  Do well and seek his glory and honor - you'll be so rewarded that you will not be able to find the right words to describe all the blessing you are going to receive.

Joshua 20:9 (April 23rd)

Quiet Time Nugget:

God told Joshua what cities to designate to the different group of people and he distributed them as God told him. God still continues to tell us the different places to go to.  Has God told you to go somewhere or do something and you have not done it?  What are you waiting for?  God gives and takes away but when He gives you something or tells you to go somewhere lets obey.  He will never abandon.  He will provide everything you need.  We do not have to go to other countries to preach the gospel maybe it is your neighbor or family member that needs to hear the good news.  Take the time to ask God: -- what do you want me to do? -- wait -- then do it!

Romans 1:17 (April 22nd)

Quiet Time Nugget:

Are you righteous or unrighteous? Wow, that is a tough question!  The Bible says that if you are righteous, you shall live by faith but if you are unrighteous, you suppress the truth.  I want to live a righteous life.  I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sins and on the 3rd day He rose from the dead and is in heaven preparing a place for me.  Take the time in this life to know Jesus.  Accept Him as your Savior and read His word to learn more about Him.  God is wonderful.  Praise Him.  Trust in Him.  Believe me, I have put my trust in the Lord and many of my everyday chores seem a lot lighter and I have joy in Him.  Live by faith not by sight!

Joshua 17:14 (April 22nd)

Quiet Time Nugget:

Have you ever come to the realization, like Joshua did, that the Lord has been blessing you all along?  We take for granted those things and people that make our lives easy.  Many times we just don't have time to stop (and smell the roses).  Lets take sometime today to 'STOP' and thank God for ALL the blessings we have received.  As I sit here meditating on His word I want to personally thank God for my blessings.
(Thank you Lord because I woke up and I was able to see, walk, talk.  Thank you for my morning coffee and toast. Thank you for all the clothes in my closet - what am I going to wear? Thank you for my car and protect me from all the 18-wheelers that zoom by me or behind me very fast.  Protect me from any "deer" that might cross my path). As you can see there are so many and so I will stop typing now and continue thanking the Lord for all my blessing since all along the Lord has blessed me and will continue.

Acts 28:15 (April 21st)

Quiet Time Nugget:

When was the last time you thanked God.  In the book of Acts, Paul took the time to thank God.
There are so many things to be thankful for.  From the moment we wake up until we go to sleep, we have numerous opportunities to thank God.  If it wasn't for Him, we would not be here.  If it wasn't for Him we would not have all the wonderful things.  Yes, we all go through illnesses, loss, grief and many other sad things but once we pass them, they make us strong.  Take the time to thank God and take courage.   Courage will allow you to do the next thing in life - those things you have been putting off.  Just by having the courage to place your trust in Him is the beginning to many amazing things to come.

Joshua 15:19 (April 21st)

Quiet Time Nugget:

  • When was the last time you asked God for a blessing?
  • When was the last time you noticed all the blessings you receive everyday?
  •  Have you actually noticed all the blessings that you already have?
Wow, it is amazing how much we are blessed everyday! As I was meditating in this verse I began to thank God for everything.  I just could not stop because when I thought I was done, something else would come to my mind.  We have so many blessing that we take for granted the everyday things that make us who we are.
Take the time to thank Him for all the blessing, big or small.  And if you need for Him to bless you - just ask Him.  He is a God of love who wants to give you blessings.

Acts 27:25 (April 20th)

Quiet Time Nugget:

Sometimes it is extremely difficult to have faith, to believe in something we cannot see.  We are weak and fall into many temptations.  Thank God for His mercies and understanding. Even though we may stumble and fail, God takes us in His arms, comforts us and guides us.  The Bible says to take heart and have faith. We must believe in that and not allow our faith to diminish.   God does not change His mind like we do.  God does not forget.  If you know and believe exactly what He told you and promised you, then have patient and wait - don't lose faith, it will come.  God always keeps His promises - WAIT!

Joshua 13 (April 20th)

Quiet Time Nugget:

The chapters I read today spoke about the different inheritance each group of people received.  According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary the word inheritance means:

1
a :  the act of inheriting property
b :  the reception of genetic qualities by transmission from parent to offspring
c :  the acquisition of a possession, condition, or trait from past generations
2
:  something that is or may be inherited
What do you want to inherit?  Most people want to inherit properties, money, estates, and so much more.  Have you thought of what your inheritance from God is?  God has promised us eternal life.  Do you want that eternal life?  I know I do!  Believe in Him, confess your sins, and accept Him as your Savior and you too can experience eternal life, the best inheritance anyone can receive.

Acts 26:16 (April 19th)

Quiet Time Nugget:

Rise and stand!  If God is with you, do not be afraid to rise and stand and share the good news to others.  God appointed us as a servant and witness.  A servant, someone who is going to listen to what God tells he/she to do.  Has God told you to do something and you are still waiting for confirmation? Please don't wait any longer, do it.  When God tells us to do something (no matter how big or small) we must listen because if you don't, you will be missing out on the greatest blessing that is set to come your way.  Be a witness.  You have been reading the Word of God.  You know the Word of God.  You believe it and follow it.  Why not share it?  Tell others please do not hesitate any longer.  Rise and stand and go!

Joshua 10:25 (April 19th)

Quiet Time Nugget:

Again and again God tells us throughout the Bible not to be afraid or dismayed.  God is a god of love.  We all know that when someone loves you or you love someone, nothing else matters.  You want the best of the best for that person.  You do everything you can to make that person happy.  You enjoy spending time with that person and when it is time to leave you feel an lonely.  You want to spend every moment with that person.  So if God is love, which he is, spend time with Him - do not be afraid or dismayed.  The more time you spend with Him the stronger you will become.  Trust in Him and He will give you courage to do anything--> go find a job, ask someone to marry, ask for a raise, travel, call a lost loved one, anything…

Quiet Time Nugget:

Who do you worship? 'I worship the God of our fathers' is what Paul told those you wanted to kill him.    I hope you can say the same.  I worship God for all He has done for me and continues to do on a daily basis.  God has allowed me to share the gospel.  God has allowed me to teach the gospel.  God has allowed me all the wonderful things that life can give.  I worship Him daily by reading His word, singing, praying, and thanking Him continuously.  God is eternal so your worship should be eternal.  We spend hour talking to others - take sometime to talk to Him too.
