Joshua 24:14 (April 26th)

Quiet Time Nugget:

The application of this verse is about God's mercies to Joshua and the people.  It is an exhortation to fear and serve God, in gratitude for his favor, and that it might be continued.  We know that our work for God is never fully done until our life is done.  If God lengthens our days, it is because He has some further service for us to do.  Let's stop making excuses for every little thing and be sincere and faithful.  How can God use you to do His work if you are not sincere and faithful.  Examine your life and ask Him to help you make the necessary changes to serve him and do according to His will.

Romans 5:1 (April 25th)

Quiet Time Nugget:

What a description of a blissful and calm state which the sense of justification brings.  A blessed change takes place in the sinner's state, when he/she becomes a true believer.  You can have peace with God when you are justified by faith.  Faith will bring that justification, justification will bring that peace with God all through the mediation of Jesus Christ.  The holy, righteous God, cannot be at peace with a sinner, while under the guilt of sin.  Justification takes away the guilt, and so makes way for us to have peace through our Lord Jesus Christ.  I hope you can find that peace and begin to built in your heart that eager hope that looks forward to a glorious future with God.

How cool would it be if you are driving and this verse was posted along the way!
This bible verse does not need much explanation… "love the Lord your God, and walk in all his ways and keep his commandments and cling to Him and serve Him with all your heart and soul".  I hope that you can do all the things it says.  Put your trust in God and He will never abandon you.  Have you been waiting for a sign from God to do something important in your life?  Then keep this verse in your heart and soul, wait patiently on Him -- He will not fail you.

Romans 3:23 -25 (April 24th)

Quiet Time Nugget:

Have you been justified by His grace?  In other words: have you been declared or made righteous in the sight of God by His grace?
The righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ is for all who believe.  We are all sinners and have fallen short of the glory of God but we can be justified by his grace as a gift.  What a wonderful gift, grace.  If it wasn't for God mercy and grace, we would have never had the opportunity to be made righteous.  Thank Him every moment of your life for all He has done for you.  Praise Him through prayer or singing.  God will never leave you.  Trust in Him.

Joshua 21 (April 24th)

Quiet Time Nugget:

Wikipedia:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pasture

What are pasturelands and why does Joshua 21 repeat it numerous times?  In this chapter, Joshua was to allot the Levites land to dwell along with their pasturelands for livestock. According to wikipedia: "Pasturelands in the narrow sense are enclosed tracts of farmland, grazed by domesticated livestock, such as horses, cattle, sheep or swine.  The vegetation of tended pasture, forage, consists mainly of grasses.  Pasture is typically grazed throughout the summer."

In this modern day, we do not go around allotting  groups of people land, however, God has allotted us different places where we can go and spread the gospel.  Many of the different places include: your job,  school, waiting for an appointment at the doctor, emergency room, dentist, barber, etc.  Because the mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life (Prov 10:11), we need to go and spread the good news to all so they too can have life.

Romans 2:7 (April 23rd)

Quiet Time Nugget:

What a wonderful promise: "to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, He will give eternal life".  Seek God, serve Him, praise Him, love Him - why not? He has given you everything you have and more.  We are so ungrateful sometimes that we do not take the time to give honor where honor is due.  He has offered us eternal life with no sorrows and no pain - an offer that no one else can give you.
Even if you are feeling down and the whole world is crumbling around you, take the time to thank Him for everything.  Do well and seek his glory and honor - you'll be so rewarded that you will not be able to find the right words to describe all the blessing you are going to receive.

Joshua 20:9 (April 23rd)

Quiet Time Nugget:

God told Joshua what cities to designate to the different group of people and he distributed them as God told him. God still continues to tell us the different places to go to.  Has God told you to go somewhere or do something and you have not done it?  What are you waiting for?  God gives and takes away but when He gives you something or tells you to go somewhere lets obey.  He will never abandon.  He will provide everything you need.  We do not have to go to other countries to preach the gospel maybe it is your neighbor or family member that needs to hear the good news.  Take the time to ask God: -- what do you want me to do? -- wait -- then do it!
