Judges 17:12 (May 5th)

Quiet Time Nugget:

'Now I know that the Lord will prosper me'.  Do you?  In this verse we see how Micah, probably, in his ignorance thought that he was going to prosper because a Levite was a priest in his house.  Not because your mom, dad, or spouse are christian - you will inherit the kingdom of God.  The Bible teaches us that we have to surrender to God, confess our sins, accept Him as our Savior and follow Him.  You will not prosper because your spouse is walking in the Lord, you have to walk in the Lord too.
Examine yourself, are you thinking that everything will prosper because of someone else?  Like the kids say today: I think not!  God will prosper you but you must have in your heart as your personal savior.

Judges 16:28 (May 4th)

Quiet Time Nugget:

'O Lord God, please remember me and please strengthen me'… - was the prayer that Samson said when he needed God the most.  This prayer was not an act of malice and revenge, but of faith and zeal for God.  The awful punishments for his sins had, at last, brought him to his senses.  When finally Samson cried out for God to remember him, he knew that God was the only one who could help him and he put his trust in Him.
I know that this type of prayer we say when we call out to God because we are feeling low, lonely or afraid.   A prayer because we have lost all hope and need God to lift us up.  My friends do not let your spirit get so low that you have to find your self pleading God.  Take time, everyday, to thank Him, to praise Him and to talk to Him about your everyday things.  He is a God who listens and will be with you no matter what if you put your trust in Him and serve Him.

Judges 13:3, 9 (May 3rd)

Quiet Time Nugget:

I hope you had the opportunity to read about Samson in the book of Judges.  What a wonderful story.  It spoke to me in a very special way.  After reading about Monoah's wife, who could not have children.  I stopped and prayed for all those women who have not had the opportunity to become pregnant or carry a child full-term.  I asked God to give them comfort and much needed strength.
But as you continue reading the chapter you see how God did not forget her and send an angel to tell her the good news.  This good news came with specific instructions: 'you are not to drink wine, strong drinks, eat nothing unclean, and no razor shall come upon his head."  She and her husband listen to God and obeyed.
When was the last time God told to do something and you asked for confirmation and after you received it, you still didn't do what you were suppose too?  Let's be obedient.  Let's let God guide our every steps.  He will never fail us.

Judges 10:15 (May 2nd)

Quiet Time Nugget:

If you read the book of Judges you will see how these people kept going back to their corrupted ways after the Lord helped them.  I felt moved by this scripture because we all sin and sometimes we ask God to do whatever seems good to help us out of a situation. But, have you stopped to think how many times you have done this in your lifetime?  We beg and beg God to deliver us from whatever it is that is tormenting us but when storm is gone and the sun is shining; how quickly we forget and go back to doing the things that got is in trouble in the first place.  My prayer today is for God to deliver me from those storms but to show me what got me into that storm in the first place and help me change my ways.

Judges 9:7 (May 1st)

Quiet Time Nugget:

Thank God for His mercies.  He sends us leaders that come to tell us what God has for us.  It appears that the Men of Shechem were busy in their own thoughts and talking that someone had to re-direct them.  This man, Jotham, wanted to bring to the men what God had for them; he had to cry aloud.  He had to persuade them to give him patient and listen.
We should not have to have someone tell us to stop and listen to God.  If we are following his word, we should do that automatically.  Unfortunately, with all the everyday things that we deal with we forget to be quiet and listen to God.  Let us stop, wait and listen to God.  He had great things for us.

Judges 8:23 (April 30th)

Quiet Time Nugget:

The entire verse says: "Gideon said unto them, I will not rule over you, neither shall my son rule over you: the Lord will rule over you. Few with such power at their command would have acted as Gideon did.  His speech calls them back to their first principles.  We too need to remember that God is in control.  Do not allow the things of this earth control your life.   The Lord Jesus Christ should be the ONLY ONE to rule over you.

Judges 6:23 (April 29th)

Quiet Time Nugget:

After having vanished to convince Gideon of his divinity, the Angel returns again to assure his heart.  The Angel probably appeared and spoke again just as he had done before.  Let us take this statement: 'Peace be to you. Do not fear' and meditate.  We are so worried about everything that we can not control in our daily life.  But just like the Angel told Gideon, God too tells us to have peace and do not fear.  We really need to meditate in this and take it to heart.  Believe in it and trust that God is in control.

Judges 5:3 (April 28th)

Quiet Time Nugget:

Sing praises to the Lord.  Thank Him for all of His blessings - today, everyday, morning, afternoons, evenings, through troubles, through happy times.  Sing loud.  God loves a sincere melody.  Ask Him for forgiveness.  Ask Him for extra blessing.  Just Ask Him! --  Today and Everyday!

Romans 8:34 (April 27th)

Quiet Time Nugget:

Christ Jesus is the one who died AND more than that who was raised AND who is at the right hand of God who  indeed is interceding for us.  What a wonderful advocate!  Christ Jesus is your advocate! Our faith should not stop at his death, but be exercised farther on his resurrection, kingdom, second coming.
Christ Jesus is not only getting ready for us to come and join Him, He is interceding for us.  Our prayers, sufferings, and concerns are sanctified through Him and presented to the Heavenly Father.

Judges 2:1 (April 27th)

Quiet Time Nugget:

What a wonderful promise an angel of the Lord said: "I will never break my covenant with you,"… This is what God too promised us after the earth was destroyed during the flood.  If we focus on one word 'never', we need to realize that every time we are feeling down, think that God is not listening to us and that he has changed his mind - we are forgetting about his covenants.  Remember God is not a god who lies and/or gives us false hopes.  He is a God of love and mercies.  When God promises you something He will follow through.  Just continue trusting Him and thanking Him for the rewards that is about to come.  I trust Him and I know that He wants the best for me.
